Product Details

A forged carbon fiber sheet doesn’t have a weave — and that’s the whole point. Instead of woven fabric laid up in neat rows, forged CF is made from chopped carbon fiber tow compressed under high pressure with epoxy resin. The fibers orient randomly during compression, creating a flowing, marble-like pattern that’s different on every single piece. No two sheets look alike. If you want carbon fiber that stands out instead of blending in, this is it.

The process is fundamentally different from woven sheet production. We take chopped 3K carbon tow — typically 30-50mm lengths — and distribute it evenly across the mold cavity. Epoxy resin is added, then the whole stack gets pressed at high temperature and pressure. The random fiber orientation means there’s no 0° or 90° direction — strength is more isotropic than woven laminates, distributed across all axes rather than concentrated along the weave. For parts that take load from multiple directions without a preferred axis, this chopped fiber construction can actually outperform a traditional balanced weave layup.

The visual effect is what sells it. Under glossy finish, the random fiber pattern looks like dark marble — organic, flowing, impossible to replicate exactly. Luxury car brands started using forged CF for interior trim because it looks more exclusive than the same twill pattern everyone recognizes. Watch brands use it because no two dials are identical. Consumer electronics brands use it because it photographs differently from every angle. The pattern isn’t printed or embossed — it’s the actual fiber orientation frozen in the resin.

We offer forged carbon board in matte or glossy finish, thickness from 0.5mm to 50mm+. Standard sizes up to 1000×1000mm, custom cuts to 3m×8m. CNC machining available with ±0.05mm tolerance.

Applications

  • Auto interiors — Console, dashboard, steering wheel and door trims. Its exclusive marble-like pattern changes visually under glossy finish, favored by luxury car brands.
  • Premium consumer goods — Watches, pens, phone cases and headphones. Unique textures make each item distinct and justify premium prices.
  • Architecture & decor — Desks, wall panels, elevator interiors and retail fixtures. Its stone-style flowing patterns elevate commercial spaces.
  • Sports gear — Bicycles, skis and rackets. Stylish look plus strong multi-directional durability.
  • Structural parts — Random fiber layout delivers more even load distribution than woven carbon fiber for multi-axis stress components.

Why Choose YTCarbon

  • One plant, full control. We press forged carbon fiber sheets from raw chopped tow and CNC machine all parts in-house. No middlemen, no quality uncertainty, no batch variance. We exhibited at the 2025 World UAV Expo — see what a real carbon fiber factory delivers.
  • Consistent pattern density. Random does not mean uncontrolled. We manage fiber distribution for even marble patterns across full sheets — no resin-rich spots or fiber clumps. Critical when cutting multiple parts from one panel.
  • 3m × 8m max sheet size. One of China’s largest single-piece press capabilities. For architecture and large automotive surfaces, we deliver seamless, uninterrupted forged CF panels.
  • Both matte and glossy available. Matte gives a subtle, stone-like texture. Glossy brings out the full depth and flow of the marble pattern. We can also do a satin finish between the two — specify what your project needs
  • ISO 9001 certified. Independently audited quality management system. Material Test Reports available on request for full traceability.

Certifications

Every sheet we ship carries documented quality credentials. Our facility holds ISO 9001 certification for quality management, and our carbon fiber materials are RoHS and CE compliant — required if you’re selling into the EU or supplying customers who need traceable material documentation. How to Order

Working with a factory-direct supplier means you skip the trading company markup and talk straight to the people making your sheet. Here’s how the process works: send us your requirements — thickness, size, quantity, surface finish preference, and any CNC specs. We respond with a quote within 24 hours. Because forged carbon has a unique pattern on every piece, we recommend ordering sample pieces first so you can see the actual pattern before committing to a production run. Once you confirm, we produce, inspect, and ship. Payment via T/T, PayPal, or letter of credit.

Frequently Asked Questions

+ What’s the difference between forged carbon fiber and woven carbon fiber?
Two differences: how it’s made and how it looks. Woven CF uses continuous fiber fabric laid up in layers — you get a repeating pattern (twill or plain) and strength concentrated along the fiber direction. Forged CF uses chopped fiber compressed in a mold — you get a random, marble-like pattern and more evenly distributed strength across all directions. Forged is about visual uniqueness and multi-directional load capability. Woven is about maximum directional strength and a consistent, recognizable pattern.
+ Is forged carbon fiber as strong as woven?
Depends on the direction. Along the fiber axis, woven carbon fiber is stronger — continuous fibers carry more load than chopped ones. But across multiple directions simultaneously, compression molded carbon fiber with random orientation distributes strength more evenly. Think of it this way: woven is like rope — very strong when you pull along its length. Forged is like reinforced concrete — strong from every angle but not as strong as rope in one specific direction. For multi-axis structural parts, forged can be the better engineering choice.
+ Is the marble pattern on every forged carbon sheet truly unique?
Yes. The chopped fibers orient randomly during compression — there’s no way to control exactly where each fiber ends up. Every forged CF sheet produces a different pattern, and even different areas of the same sheet look different. This is the same process luxury brands like Lamborghini and Pagani use for their interior trim. If you cut two dashboard panels from the same sheet, they’ll have different patterns. That uniqueness is the selling point.
+ Can I get a forged carbon fiber sheet in glossy finish?
Yes, and glossy is where forged carbon really shines — literally. The mirror-polish finish brings out the full depth of the marble pattern CF, making the random fiber paths look like flowing dark marble. Matte gives a more subtle, stone-like texture that works for architectural panels and understated designs. Both are available. We recommend ordering a small sample in each finish so you can see the difference with your own eyes.
+ Why does forged carbon fiber have lower tensile strength than woven?
Because the fibers are chopped, not continuous. A continuous fiber can carry load along its entire length without interruption. A chopped fiber transfers load through the resin matrix at each fiber end — that’s a weaker connection. The trade-off is that random orientation gives you more uniform strength in every direction, while woven concentrates strength along two axes. If your part takes load primarily in one direction, woven is the stronger choice. If it takes load from every direction, forged carbon board distributes that load more effectively.
+ What fiber grades are available for forged carbon sheets?
We offer T300, T700, T800, and T1000 chopped fiber. T300 is the standard — good strength, good value, and by far the most common choice for forged carbon. T700 gives you a meaningful strength bump at a moderate price increase and is popular for higher-end automotive and sports applications. T800 and T1000 are available for projects that need maximum performance from the chopped fiber format. We’ll recommend the right grade based on your application.
