Product Details

The 3K twill weave is what most people picture when they hear “carbon fiber” — that diagonal herringbone pattern running across the surface. It’s not just for looks. The twill over-under weave distributes fiber stress across both axes, giving you balanced tensile strength in 0° and 90° directions. Unlike plain weave where fibers cross every single tow, twill skips one — that means fewer crimp points, better drapability during layup, and slightly higher strength per unit weight. If you’re buying one carbon fiber sheet to cover the widest range of applications, this is it.

Our 3K twill sheets run from T300 grade up through T1000, which means you can spec exactly the strength-to-cost ratio your project needs. T300 handles general structural duty at the best price point. T700 and T800 step up modulus and tensile for performance-critical parts. T1000 is for the guys pushing the absolute limit — aerospace, top-tier motorsport, competitive drone racing. Thickness range from 0.2mm (our thinnest veneer) all the way to 50mm solid plate. Standard cut sizes at 500×500mm, 600×600mm, and 1000×1000mm — or custom dimensions on request.

Here’s the part most suppliers can’t match: we produce single-piece sheets up to 3,000mm × 8,000mm. No splicing, no scarf joints, no overlap seams. One continuous sheet. That’s one of the largest CF sheet sizes available from any factory in China. If you need large-format panels for CNC nesting, big machine covers, or architectural applications, this is where YTCarbon makes the difference. Custom sizes, custom layup, custom finish — one factory, one shipment.

Applications

  • CNC Machined Parts — 3K twill sheets are the go-to material for CNC-cut drone frames, robot chassis, and mechanical brackets. Balanced bi-axial strength means you don’t have to worry about fiber orientation when nesting parts.
  • Automotive & Motorsport — Interior trim panels, undertray splitters, strut tower bars. The twill pattern is the industry standard for visible carbon — buyers expect it, and it photographs well.
  • UAV & Drone Frames — From 5-inch FPV racers to heavy-lift industrial platforms. Our 3K twill sheets in T700/T800 give drone builders the stiffness-to-weight ratio that wins races and carries payloads.
  • Sporting Goods — Ski topsheets, hockey stick blades, bicycle frame reinforcements, fishing rod handles. The twill weave adds visual value on consumer products where the carbon look is part of the sell.
  • Large-Format Industrial Panels — Machine guards, architectural facades, cleanroom partitions. Up to 3m×8m in a single piece — no visible seams, no weak points at the joints. Most competitors top out at 1.5m.

Why Choose YTCarbon

  • Proven at 2025 World UAV Expo — We exhibited at the 2025 World UAV Expo — see what a real carbon fiber factory puts on the table. Our 3K twill sheets were the first thing visitors picked up, and the T800 samples didn’t go back on the shelf. That tactile quality speaks louder than any spec sheet.
  • 3m×8m Single-Piece Sheets — This is our biggest advantage and we lead with it. Most CF sheet factories max out at 1.5m×2m. We go to 3m×8m — no splicing, no overlap, no compromise. If you need large panels for CNC nesting or architectural use, this changes your entire project economics.
  • T300 Through T1000 — One Factory — You don’t need to source different grades from different suppliers. We stock T300 for cost-effective jobs, T700/T800 for performance work, and T1000 for the extreme end. Same quality system, same traceability, same point of contact.
  • 0.2mm Thinnest to 50mm Thickest — From cosmetic veneers you can almost see through, to 50mm solid plates that stop bullets (literally — we’ve tested). That thickness range means one supplier handles your veneer needs AND your heavy structural plates.
  • Factory Direct, No Trading Company Markup — We’re the factory. Shenzhen Yuanti New Materials. Not a trading company flipping someone else’s sheets at 20% margin. You get manufacturer pricing, manufacturer quality control, and direct communication with the people running the autoclave.

How We Manufacture Your 3K Twill Carbon Fiber Sheet

It starts with the fiber. We source 3K carbon fiber tow from qualified mills — T300, T700, T800, or T1000 depending on your spec. The tow is woven into 2/2 twill fabric at our partner weaving facility, then impregnated with epoxy resin to create pre-preg sheets at controlled resin content (typically 35–42% by weight). For hot-pressed sheets, pre-preg layers are stacked to the target thickness and cured in heated platen presses at 130°C under 10–15 MPa pressure. For large-format sheets up to 3m×8m, we use our oversized press — one of the few in China capable of that size. After curing, each sheet is cooled under pressure to prevent warping, then trimmed and inspected. Thickness is measured at minimum 9 points per sheet. Surface defects, fiber distortion, and resin-rich spots are flagged and graded. Only Grade A sheets ship to customers.

FAQ

+ What does 3K mean in a 3K twill carbon fiber sheet?
“3K” means each tow (bundle) contains 3,000 individual carbon filaments. It’s the most common tow size for woven carbon fiber fabrics. 1K is finer with a tighter, subtler pattern. 6K and 12K are coarser, cheaper per square meter, but the weave looks chunkier. For most applications where you want both good strength and that classic carbon fiber appearance, 3K is the sweet spot — fine enough to look premium, thick enough to handle easily during layup.
+ How does twill weave carbon fiber compare to plain weave in strength?
Twill weave has slightly higher in-plane strength than plain weave at the same areal weight. Here’s why: in plain weave, every tow goes over-under-over-under every single crossing — lots of crimp points where the fiber bends. Twill skips one (over-over-under-under), so fewer crimp points, straighter fiber paths, and slightly better load-carrying capacity. The practical difference is modest — typically 3–8% higher tensile strength — but twill also drapes better on complex molds, which matters if you’re doing vacuum bagging or hand layup on curved surfaces.
+ Which carbon fiber grade should I choose — T300, T700, T800, or T1000?
Depends on your strength-to-cost requirement. T300 is the workhorse — good strength at the lowest price, fine for general structural and cosmetic parts. T700 is the most popular upgrade — significantly higher tensile strength (~40% more than T300) with a moderate price increase. T800 adds higher modulus on top of that, ideal for parts that need to resist bending. T1000 is the top tier — highest tensile strength available — reserved for aerospace, competitive racing, and applications where every gram of weight savings counts. Most of our customers go T300 for cost-driven projects and T700 for performance-driven ones.
+ Can I get a 3K twill carbon fiber sheet larger than 1m×1m?
Absolutely. Our standard cut sizes are 500×500mm, 600×600mm, and 1000×1000mm, but those are just convenience sizes. We produce single-piece sheets up to 3,000mm × 8,000mm — that’s not a splice or overlap, that’s one continuous cured sheet. Most competitors max out at 1.5m because their press can’t go bigger. Our oversized press handles it. For CNC nesting, large machine covers, or architectural panels, that 3m×8m capability saves you material waste and eliminates seam weak points.
+ What thickness of 3K twill carbon fiber sheet do I need for my project?
Rough guide: 0.2–0.5mm for decorative veneers and surface skins. 1–2mm for drone frames, small brackets, and lightweight covers. 3–5mm for structural brackets, machine components, and load-bearing plates. 6–10mm for heavy-duty brackets, jigs, and tooling. 10–50mm for extreme structural applications — think press platens, ballistic panels, and heavy machine bases. If you tell us your load case, we can recommend the right thickness and grade combo. No guessing required.
