Product Details

Not every carbon fiber part starts as a flat sheet or a round tube. Sometimes you need a bracket with counterbored holes, a linkage arm with complex contours, or a drone motor mount that fits down to the micron. That is where CNC machining comes in — we take pre-cured CFRP blanks and mill them into the exact geometry your project demands, with zero mold investment and turnaround times that prototyping shops simply cannot match.

Our shop runs both 3-axis and 5-axis CNC centers. The 3-axis handles sheets up to 3000 × 1500 mm — great for large flat parts with cutouts and pockets. The 5-axis tackles complex 3D shapes in a single setup, eliminating repositioning errors and keeping tolerances tight at ±0.02 mm. We use PCD and diamond-coated tooling specifically designed for carbon fiber, so every edge comes out clean — no fraying, no delamination, no fiber pull-out.

Whether you are building one prototype or scaling to production, we keep the process lean. Send us your STEP, IGES, or SolidWorks file; we program the tool path, fixture the blank, and ship finished parts in 7–10 working days. No minimum order on prototypes — and when you are ready for volume, our production line takes over with the same precision at scale.

Applications

  • Aerospace Brackets — 60% lighter than aluminum, machined to ±0.02 mm for tight-fit assemblies.
  • Drone Frame Parts — Arms, motor mounts, and landing gear from your 3D models, flight-ready out of the box.
  • Robotic Arm Joints — High-stiffness links that resist flex under dynamic loads.
  • Medical Device Housings — Smooth-finish CFRP enclosures, machined to tight tolerances.
  • Automotive Performance — Steering wheel spokes, shift knobs, and structural inserts.

Why Choose YTCarbon

  • Factory Direct CNC — We exhibited at the 2025 World UAV Expo — see what a real carbon fiber factory puts on the table. 5-axis centers mill your parts in-house.
  • ±0.02 mm Precision — PCD tooling and real-time force monitoring. Defect rate under 0.5%.
  • No Mold Cost — We machine from pre-cured blanks using CNC fixtures, skip the mold entirely.
  • Fast Turnaround — 3–5 day fixture setup, 7–10 day delivery on prototypes.
  • Full Surface Options — Glossy, matte, sandblasted, or painted to your spec.

Certifications

Every CNC machined carbon fiber part leaves our Shenzhen facility with full traceability. We hold ISO 9001:2015 for quality management and ISO 14001 for environmental compliance. Material test reports and dimensional inspection sheets are available on request — no guessing, no hoping, just documented proof that your parts meet spec.

How We Manufacture Your CNC Machined Carbon Fiber Parts

It starts with your CAD file — STEP, IGES, SolidWorks, whatever you have. Our engineers review the geometry, select the right CFRP blank, and program the tool path on our 5-axis CAM system. We fixture the blank on the CNC bed using vacuum jigs or custom clamps, then mill it with PCD-coated tools at optimized feeds and speeds for carbon fiber. After machining, each part goes through deburring, surface finishing (glossy, matte, or sandblasted per your choice), and final dimensional inspection before packing and shipping.

FAQ

+ What tolerance can you achieve on CNC machined carbon fiber parts?
We hold ±0.02 mm on precision features (holes, bearing seats, mating surfaces) and ±0.05 mm on general dimensions. For parts requiring even tighter specs, we can grind critical surfaces after milling. Tolerance reports come standard with every order.
+ Do I need to provide a mold for custom CNC carbon fiber components?
No. CNC machining works directly from pre-cured CFRP blanks, so there is no mold cost at all. We design custom fixtures or use vacuum jigs to hold the blank during milling. This makes CNC ideal for prototyping and low-volume runs where mold investment does not make sense.
+ How do you prevent delamination when milling carbon fiber?
We use PCD and diamond-coated tools with positive rake angles that shear fibers cleanly instead of pulling them. Our CAM programming optimizes cutting direction relative to fiber orientation, and real-time force monitoring catches any deviation before damage occurs. The result: clean edges, zero delamination, and a defect rate under 0.5%.
+ What file formats do you accept for CNC carbon fiber machining?
We accept STEP, IGES, DWG, DXF, STL, and native SolidWorks files (.sldprt). 3D solid models (STEP/IGES) are preferred because they carry full geometric data. If you only have 2D drawings, send them with detailed tolerances and we will create the 3D model for you at no extra charge.
+ Can you CNC machine carbon fiber parts with both 3-axis and 5-axis?
Yes. Our 3-axis machines handle large flat parts up to 3000 × 1500 mm — sheet-based components with pockets, cutouts, and holes. For complex 3D geometries like curved brackets, undercuts, and multi-angle features, we run 5-axis simultaneous machining up to 1200 × 800 mm. The 5-axis eliminates repositioning errors and keeps everything in one setup.
