Product Details

A glossy carbon fiber sheet doesn’t just perform — it presents. The mirror-polish finish turns the weave pattern into a visual feature: every tow, every crossing, every diagonal line shows up sharp and deep under clear resin. This is the sheet you reach for when the carbon fiber is the product, not just the material — automotive trim, consumer electronics, watch cases, and any application where the customer sees and touches the surface.

The gloss comes from precision polishing after the pressing stage. We start with a standard pressed laminate, then run it through a multi-step polishing process that removes surface imperfections and brings the resin to an optically clear finish. The result is a carbon fiber plate where you can count the individual fibers in the tow — not a hazy sheen, not a semi-gloss, but a true mirror finish that reflects its surroundings. The resin layer protecting the fiber is typically 30-50 microns thick, enough to guard against fingerprints and light handling while keeping the weave visually crisp.

Here’s what most buyers don’t consider: glossy and matte sheets from the same batch have identical structural properties. Same fiber, same resin, same fiber volume fraction, same tensile strength. The difference is purely surface-level — literally. Glossy doesn’t mean weaker, and it doesn’t mean it’s “just for looks.” A polished carbon fiber board carries the same loads as a matte one. The only real trade-off is that gloss shows every scratch, so it’s not the right choice for parts that get handled rough or assembled with tools.

We offer glossy on both sides, or glossy one side / matte on the other — practical when you want a display-grade exterior with a bondable interior surface. Thickness from 0.2mm to 50mm+. Standard stock sizes ship within 3 working days. Custom CNC machining available.

Applications

  • Automotive trim and interiors — Dashboard overlays, center console panels, door handle surrounds, and mirror covers. The mirror finish carbon fiber plate is what customers expect when they pay for “carbon fiber” on a car — anything less looks like a compromise. Aftermarket and OEM both spec glossy for visible trim
  • Consumer electronics housings — Laptop shells, phone cases, headphone cups, and wearable device enclosures where the polished carbon surface is the selling point. The weave pattern under clear resin is instantly recognizable and signals premium build quality
  • Luxury goods and accessories — Watch cases, pen bodies, wallet shells, and lifestyle products. The high gloss carbon fiber finish competes with polished metal and lacquered wood — but at a fraction of the weight. Brands use it when they need the visual impact of metal without the mass
  • Architectural and interior design — Wall panels, elevator interiors, reception desk surfaces, and retail display fixtures. Large glossy CF panels create a striking visual effect in commercial spaces — the reflection shifts as you walk past, giving the surface a dynamic quality that static materials can’t match
  • Exhibition and display fixtures — Trade show booths, product display stands, and museum cases where the material itself draws attention. The mirror-polish surface photographs well under exhibition lighting and makes adjacent products look premium by association

Why Choose YTCarbon

  • One plant, full control. We press our own carbon fiber sheet from raw tow, then CNC machine every part in the same facility. No trading companies in the chain, no unknown quality, no batch-to-batch variance. We exhibited at the 2025 World UAV Expo — see what a real carbon fiber factory puts on the table
  • Multi-step mirror polish. Our glossy finish isn’t a single-pass buff. We run a controlled polishing sequence that removes surface defects progressively, then finishes with a fine compound that brings the resin to optical clarity. The result is a consistent 85-95 GU gloss level across the full sheet — no dull spots, no swirl marks
  • 3m × 8m max sheet size. One of the largest single-piece press capabilities in China. For architectural panels and oversized display surfaces, we deliver uninterrupted high gloss carbon fiber boards without visible joint lines
  • Protective film on every sheet. All glossy sheets ship with a peel-off protective film applied after polishing. It guards against scratches during handling, cutting, and shipping — remove it only when the part is ready for final installation. No extra charge
  • ISO 9001 certified. Quality management system audited independently. Gloss level measurement and surface inspection reports available on request

Certifications

Every sheet we ship carries documented quality credentials. Our facility holds ISO 9001 certification for quality management, and our carbon fiber materials are RoHS and CE compliant — required if you’re selling into the EU or supplying customers who need traceable material documentation. How to Order

Working with a factory-direct supplier means you skip the trading company markup and talk straight to the people making your sheet. Here’s how the process works: send us your requirements — thickness, size, quantity, surface finish (glossy both sides or glossy/matte combo), and any CNC specs. We respond with a quote within 24 hours, including material grade options and lead time. Need samples first? We ship polished test pieces so you can see the finish quality with your own eyes before committing. Once you confirm, we produce, inspect, and ship with protective film. Payment via T/T, PayPal, or letter of credit.

Frequently Asked Questions

+ How do you achieve the mirror finish on a carbon fiber sheet?
It’s a multi-step polishing process after the sheet comes out of the press. We start with a coarse compound to remove mold release residue and surface irregularities, then step down through progressively finer abrasives until the epoxy resin reaches optical clarity. The final pass uses a fine polishing compound that produces 85-95 GU gloss level at 60° — that’s mirror-grade. The weave pattern shows through the clear resin with no haze or cloudiness. It’s not a quick buff — the full sequence takes time, and that’s why polished carbon fiber costs more than matte.
+ Does the glossy finish scratch easily?
Yes — that’s the honest answer. Any high gloss surface shows scratches more than matte. The resin layer is hard but not scratch-proof. For parts that get handled frequently or assembled with metal tools, we recommend leaving the protective film on during fabrication and removing it only at final installation. For end-use surfaces that will see regular contact (phone cases, watch cases), a clear coat or UV-cured top layer adds scratch resistance without killing the gloss. We can apply this as an optional add-on.
+ Is a glossy carbon fiber board weaker than a matte one?
No. The mechanical properties are identical. Glossy and matte sheets from the same production batch have the same fiber volume fraction, tensile strength, flexural modulus, and density. The polishing process removes less than 50 microns of surface resin — it doesn’t touch the fiber layer. The only structural difference is that glossy surfaces bond less effectively with adhesives due to the smooth surface, so if you’re bonding the polished carbon fiber plate into an assembly, use the matte side or roughen the bond area first.
+ Can I get glossy on one side and matte on the other?
Yes, and it’s a popular configuration. Glossy on the visible exterior, matte on the interior where it gets bonded or painted. We produce this by using a polished mold on one side and a textured mold on the other during pressing. The result is a single carbon panel with display-grade finish outside and bondable surface inside — no secondary processing needed.
+ What weave pattern looks best under a glossy finish?
2/2 twill is the most popular — the diagonal pattern is what most people associate with “carbon fiber look” and it shows up sharp under clear resin. Plain weave also looks clean under gloss, with a more technical, grid-like appearance. For something different, forged (chopped fiber) creates a random marble-like pattern that looks striking under mirror finish. We can provide sample pieces in each weave so you can compare before ordering.
+ Do you ship glossy sheets with protective film?
Yes. Every high gloss carbon fiber sheet leaves our factory with a peel-off protective film applied after polishing. It protects against scratches during cutting, machining, handling, and shipping. You remove it only when the part is ready for final assembly or installation. No extra charge — it’s standard on all glossy orders.
