Product Details
A carbon fiber shoe plate sits inside the midsole and acts like a spring — it bends under your weight during footstrike and snaps back during toe-off, returning stored energy that foam alone cannot provide. That is the physics behind every “super shoe” on the marathon start line.
Spoon Curve & Zoned Stiffness
The plate is not flat — it has a spoon-shaped curve at the forefoot that creates a rolling effect, reducing the ankle extension angle at push-off. Stiffness is tuned by layup: stiffer midfoot for torsion control, more flexible at the metatarsal bend line so the foot articulates naturally. At 8–12 grams per pair, the plate adds less weight than the lace tips.
OEM for Shoe Brands
We produce plates for running shoe brands, orthopedic insert makers, and sports performance labs. Custom curvature, stiffness, and sizing — we prototype from your foot scan data or last dimensions. From 500 pairs for a limited drop to 50,000 for full production.

Applications
- Running Shoes — Full-length CF plates boost toe-off energy return. Spoon curve reduces ankle extension at push-off.
- Basketball Shoes — Forefoot plates add torsion rigidity for lateral cuts without killing court feel.
- Soccer Cleats — Ultra-thin forefoot plates improve push-off while keeping the foot close to the pitch.
- Orthopedic Insoles — Custom-curved plates for plantar fasciitis and midfoot instability — stiffer than TPU, thinner than acrylic.
- Trail & Hiking — Stiff midfoot plate protects from rock penetration while allowing natural forefoot flex.
Why Choose YTCarbon
- Proven at the 2025 World UAV Expo — Precision layup and hot-press molding at shoe-plate scale is what we do after molding drone frames that survive crashes.
- Tunable Stiffness by Zone — One plate, multiple stiffness zones. We adjust layup angle and ply count section by section — stiff midfoot, flexible forefoot. No separate pieces.
- 8–12 Grams per Pair — Lighter than any TPU or nylon plate at equivalent stiffness. Weight saving goes into more foam or a lighter shoe.
- Matched-Metal Die Pressing — Steel die hot-pressing delivers ±0.05mm thickness consistency. No voids, no resin pockets, no batch variation.
- Custom Curve from Foot Scan — Send us your last scan or pressure map and we design the spoon curve to match. Typically two rounds to production sign-off.
Certifications
YTCarbon operates under ISO 9001:2015 quality management. Every shoe plate batch is traceable from prepreg intake through hot-press molding and inspection. Material test reports, flexural modulus certificates, and RoHS documentation available on request.
How We Manufacture Your Carbon Fiber Shoe Plate
Prepreg layers are stacked on a layup jig with zone-specific orientation — 0° along the length for bending stiffness, ±45° in the midfoot for torsion rigidity, reduced ply count at the metatarsal bend line for flexibility. The layup is transferred to a CNC-machined steel matched-metal die and hot-pressed. The die cavity defines the plate shape including the spoon curve. After pressing, CNC trimming removes flash. Each plate is inspected for thickness, curvature, and surface quality before pairing.
