When you move past 100mm OD, carbon fiber tube design changes. The wall gets thicker, the mandrel gets heavier, and curing requires tighter temperature control \u2014 but the payoff is real. A 200mm OD CF tube with 5mm wall weighs roughly one quarter of a steel tube with the same bending stiffness, and it never rusts. That weight ratio is why large diameter carbon fiber tubes are replacing steel and aluminum in wind turbine components, industrial rollers, and structural columns where every kilogram matters.<\/p>\n

At this scale, roll-wrapping is the primary manufacturing method. We wrap pre-preg layers onto precision-ground steel mandrels up to 300mm OD, building wall thickness layer by layer. This gives us full control over the laminate schedule \u2014 \u00b145\u00b0 plies for torsion, 0\u00b0 for axial load, 90\u00b0 for hoop strength, or a hybrid stack tailored to your application. Pultruded options are available for straight tubes up to 4 meters long, but roll-wrapped remains the go-to for anything that needs custom fiber orientation or non-standard ID dimensions.<\/p>\n

Our Shenzhen factory runs mandrels from 20mm to 300mm OD. Each large diameter tube is measured at a minimum of five points along its length for OD, ID, roundness, and wall thickness uniformity \u2014 more checkpoints than standard tubes because geometric errors amplify at larger diameters. Buying large diameter CF tubes factory direct from China means you skip trading company margins and deal directly with the engineering team that designs your laminate. We ship in reinforced wooden crates, not flimsy cardboard, because a dented 200mm tube is scrap.<\/p>\n
