The 5mm arms are the right call here. The plate stack is straightforward: 2.5mm bottom plate and 2.5mm top plate share the structural load, while the 2mm middle plate (clamp plate) locks the arms between layers for a sandwich construction that distributes impact forces instead of concentrating them at the screw holes. That’s a detail that matters \u2014 on cheap frames the arms are just bolted to a single bottom plate, and the first hard landing shears the screw holes. The sandwich design costs a few grams but saves you from that failure mode.<\/p>\n

The 2mm bumper plates protect the camera and front electronics from prop strikes and nose-first impacts. Inside the stack there’s room for 30.5\u00d730.5mm and 20\u00d720mm flight controllers, and the camera mount fits standard 19mm micro FPV cameras.
